This photo is (reportedly) of Oscar Lackey (1878-1946) who as a young lad only a week from his 7th birthday was urging his uncle Al Lackey to jump as the wagon was moved from underneath him.
This blog was set up to document my investigation into the Lackey Murders which occured in Blanco County Texas in August, 1885. This resulted in the tragic deaths of six people, the wounding of at least two and the hanging of the perpetrator.
Kenneth Merian, a descendant of John W. Nicholson (a survivor and my Great-Great-Grandfather.). And Ellie Lackey.

My grandma Nina Lackey and my mom always spoke of Uncle Oscar as being a nice man. He died the year before I was born. I would like to have met him.
Thank you for your memories.
