Harriet married a James M. Franklin in 1892. The census shows her brothers Nathanial, Greenberry and Sampson (Samp) Living with her in Ellis County (SE of Dallas).

Follow up on some of the children
As part of my research, I have been attempting to find out the whereabouts of the children of Albert and Aley in the wake of the tragedy.

I descend from Harriet Lackey Franklin and would love to share/compare infromation with anyone interested in this lineage.
I am a great-grandson of Sampson Lackey. I visited Blanco county last summer and found the Sandy cemetary and the yard where Al was buried. The exact gravesite was not visible.
Great to make contact with another Lackey descendant. I don't have much on Sampson Lackey other than when he was 18 and living with my gr gr grandparents household in the 1900 Ellis Co. TX census. I attended a meeting last night with the Center Point Historical Preservation Society and the guest speaker was Glenda Lackey. Her family is a descendent of this man. Center Point is maybe a 45 minutes drive to Blanco. She presented the history of 6 generations of Lackey's and mentioned this murder. I found it very interesting and googled it this morning. If any of you would like Glenda's contact info, I'll be happy to get it for you.
