Also, I have had a chance to correspond with Ross McSwain a author from San Angelo who wrote a book on mob violence in post-Civil War central Texas. I have not had a chance to read it yet, but he included a chapter on the Lackey lynching.

I have been researching the Lackey's for years. We are not part of the Greenberry Lackey clan. I am familiar with the Lackey murders in Blanco. I remember reading somewhere that this was the last public execution in Texas. I refer to you to the novel,"Hill Country, A Novel" by Janice Woods Windle, which describes the hanging of Al Lackey in Chapter 4.
